Director’s Statement

CETVETAR is a Centre of excellence in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). It show cases the various trades, provides skills to trainees who graduate to set up their own enterprises. The trainees are drawn from schools, industries, companies, etc. The Federal, State and Local Government are encouraged to utilize the Centre to equip Nigerians with adequate skills to reduce unemployment. The Centre can also help to revitalize and expand the nation’s collapsed Vocational training Centres through provision of its expertise

Brief History

Centre for Technical Vocational Education Training and Research (CETVETAR), University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria is a Centre approved by the University of Nigeria Senate. The idea of establishing the Centre originate from Prof. Benjamin A. Ogwo who was a member of the University research committee under Prof. Osita Nebo as the Vice-Chancellor. The Centre started with two Departments name Vocational Teacher Education and Fine and Applied Arts, which were established in 1963 and 1961 respectively. Later in 2015, the Department of Vocational Teacher Education became a Faculty with five Departments. Thus the Centre is made of Six Departments namely; Department of Agricultural Education Department of Business Education Department of Computer Education Department of Home Economics Education Department of Industrial Technical Education Department of Fine and Applied Arts
